Yaritza Waddell, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist at The Reeds Center. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University and completed her predoctoral training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
She has extensive experience in treating trauma, OCD, mood, and anxiety disorders as well as disruptive behaviors using evidence-based treatments, including behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapies in children, teens, and young adults with and without developmental disabilities. These include: CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and other mindfulness-based interventions (ACT).
She also has training in the provision of services to individuals with medical conditions and their families to optimize treatment adherence, coping, adjustment, pain and anxiety management, and behavioral health outcomes. She has trained in inpatient and outpatient settings and worked in hospitals and academic medical centers. For her dissertation, she examined the impact of perceived family functioning on depression, anxiety, stress, and perceived social competence among young adults.
